Index of Subjects
This index is intended to help visitors to this site quickly locate documents
and illustrations that pertain to specific topics. Not every item in the
McArdle notebooks can be found in this index. For example, correspondence
which was general to the artist's research, such as that discussing efforts
to obtain photographs or descriptions of people, places, and things to
be depicted, is not indexed unless it actually contains information about
those topics. Readers seeking an understanding of the research process
used by Henry McArdle to create the paintings are encouraged to take a
page-by-page look at the notebooks.
