Funding Formula Task Force
Charge
The charge to this task force was:
- To analyze the current LSL formula
- To analyze alternative fund distribution formulas and determine their applicability for use with the Loan Star Libraries Program
- To recommend alternative distribution formula or formulas to the TSLAC director and librarian
The Loan Star Libraries Task Force met for the final time February 7, 2007. At that meeting, the task force came to a consensus on a revised funding formula for the Loan Star Libraries program. The recommendation from the task force was to move the Loan Star Libraries calculation from its current formula of 25% base award and 75% as a percentage match on total local operating expenditures to 30% base award and 70% as a percentage match on total local operating expenditures. This recommendation was brought to the library community for discussion at system meetings and at a public forum at the Texas Library Association conference in San Antonio.
