as quickly as possible, we've listed our most frequently asked questions
with responses below.

Frequently Asked Questions
I would like a photocopy of a Confederate Pension Application
file.
After searching the Confederate Pension Index, simply e-mail
your request to Archives
staff. Due to the high demand for photocopies, we ask you to please
limit each request to no more than 10 pension applications per week.
Be sure to include the Pensioner's Name, Pension Number (or Rejected
or Home designation), as well as your own name and complete mailing
address. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery of your copies.
Please do not request copies of applications that have been identified
as missing.
I would like access to (or photocopies of) documents from Governor
Bush's records.

After reviewing the instructions at http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/agency/customer/pia.html,
submit your public information request by e-mail to the Director
and Librarian with a cc: to Tonia Wood, by fax to
512-463-5436, or mail to PO Box 12927, Austin, TX 78711-2927. An archivist
will contact you to determine which records are responsive to your request.
Access to or photocopies of records, or notification of the date of
the records' availability, will be provided no later than 10 working
days after the receipt of your request.
I need to know how much you charge for photocopies.
Photocopies are invoiced at $.10 per page for letter- and legal-sized
copies, plus postage. Ledger-sized paper is $.50 per page, plus postage.
There is a $1.00 minimum charge and an invoice will be sent with your
copies.
I want all of the information you have on_____.
While the staff is unable to undertake research projects for
our patrons, we can refer you to a listing
of private researchers familiar with our facility.
I want to submit a Public Information Act request for state records
held in the Archives.
