Our Library Resource Sharing Division oversees programs and services
that provide information and library materials through networks
of Texas libraries and across the Internet with the following programs
and services: TexShare; the TexNet Interlibrary Loan Network; the
Texas State Publications Depository Program; TRAIL: the Texas
Records and Information Locator, Library of Texas, and Texas Heritage
Digitization Initiative.

TexShare is a statewide resource sharing consortium designed
to enhance library services for Texas institutions of higher education

TexNet Interlibrary Loan
TexNet is a statewide interlibrary loan network which includes
academic, public and special libraries throughout Texas. Managed
by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, TexNet Interlibrary
Loan embodies several grant programs that work together to enable
library users access to materials not available at their local

State Publications Depository Program
Sometimes called the "Publications Clearinghouse,"
this program collects Texas government publications in physical
formats and announces them in a monthly checklist of state government
publishing. When possible, the program distributes copies of publications
to participating depository libraries throughout the state and
to the Library of Congress, and in many cases converts publications
to microfiche or other alternate formats to enhance their availability.Please

TexShare Databases for Public, Academic, and
Select Medical Libraries
This TexShare service provides public library patrons and
government agency personnel access to exclusive and proprietary
on-line reference sources including, digital books and journals;
electronic discussion groups; library catalogs; and other valuable
online databases that are not available anywhere else on the Internet.

Library of Texas
The Library of Texas is an initiative that will make finding
information easier and more accessible for the people of Texas.
This initiative will allow for the searching of catalogs from
libraries all across Texas. Searches will scan the catalog holdings
of numerous libraries in Texas all at once, and will include print
materials, electronically archived documents, and commercially

Texas Heritage Digitization Initiative
The Texas Heritage Digitization Initiative has been established
in order to increase collaboration among interested Texas institutions
to enhance access to distributed special collections of cultural
heritage materials. The Texas State Library and Archives Commission
received a National Leadership Grant from the Institute of Museum
and Library Services in 2005 to develop Texas
Heritage Online, a federated search portal for digital collections
